Birds are usually infected through contact with respiratory droplets from infected birds or through ingestion of feed or water contaminated with feacal materials of infected birds. Local chickens are carriers of the infection so never tolerate local chickens near your poultry. Signs usually seen include acute respiratory problems like coughing, sneezing, rales etc, nervous manifestations like torticolis I.e twisted neck, paralysis of wings and legs etc, diarrhoea, misshapened eggs, small sizes, bleached eggs, increase in cracks, at times egg production ceases outrightly and mortality.
